Rudford Retreats

‘Allowing ourselves space for God’

We were pleased to be able to offer retreats most months in 2023, and thank all those who have contributed, particularly our wonderful caterers, and those who have come to lead our retreat days.

We have decided to take a longer winter pause this year, and will not be organising retreats in January, February, or March 2024.  Details of retreats from spring onwards will be posted here.  Do revisit!

A rhythm of scripture, prayer and quietness in fellowship with others.

Rudford Retreats provide an opportunity to give space for God in our lives; to still ourselves, listen for God, and share in quiet fellowship with others.

Each day will be shaped around a passage of scripture appropriate to the season which is offered as our starting point for reflection and prayer.

Rudford Retreats are run by a small team:
Rev Heather de Gruyther
Rev Liz Palin
Mrs Elizabeth Amos (Churchwarden)
Mrs Rosie Clifford

Drinks are served on arrival and later in the morning; and a simple lunch provided. You may wish to share in conversation with others during these times or continue in quiet.

The days are suitable for all: for those familiar with retreats, as well as those exploring such days for the first time.

Each retreat stands alone. Some people may wish to come occasionally and others more regularly. The programme of each day follows the same pattern, allowing us to be refreshed by the rhythm of prayer, fellowship and quietness.

“Thankful for the warmth of the welcome, the space and the hospitality. Thank you for also sharing of yourselves. Precious time.”

“A period of rest and peace and to be alone with God. I feel very blessed to have been here.”

“Hospitality 5 star on Retreat Advisor!”

“So lovely to come “away” and be ministered to both spiritually and physically. Excellent talks – give us things to start us thinking. Lovely food too – thanks for accommodating those of us with dietary needs! This is my third time and I come with such a sense of expectation, both of meeting with God and others.”
